About the Role

About the Position:
The City of Carbon Hill is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Community Events Coordinator to plan, organize, and execute events that bring our community together. From festivals to parades, and everything in between, this role is essential to fostering a vibrant and engaging city culture. If you love working with people, have a knack for logistics, and enjoy seeing your ideas come to life, this position is for you!

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, and oversee city events such as parades, holiday celebrations, and festivals.
Collaborate with local businesses, organizations, and volunteers to create engaging community activities.
Manage event budgets, timelines, and logistics to ensure smooth execution.
Promote events through social media, the city website, and local marketing outlets.
Act as the main point of contact for vendors, sponsors, and participants.
Develop new event ideas to encourage tourism and community involvement.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Previous experience in event planning, community outreach, or a similar role is preferred.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in social media platforms and basic graphic design tools is a plus.
A passion for community development and a “can-do” attitude!
